Use of cheap quality lipsticks may cause the effect you said...but, all lipsticks don't cause that colour change. Anyway, let your original lip colour be your lip colour....why should you use artificial colours?

yes the artificial colors and chemicals may cause blackening and chapping of lips over a period of time. more importantly,quite a lot of such lipsticks are consumed by women i.e such chemcicals enter the system which is far more harmful than mere discoloration of lips
Some women are sort of sensitive to lipstick (like any other skin products I suppose) and I have actually seen girls with blackened lips. But others like me have used lipstick all their lives and never had a problem.

well it certainly depends on the company.well i seriously do not think so that it changes ur lip colour but still i think u should stick 2 the lipstick u ve been using or better still just use lipgloss . i know u have 2 keep on applying it again n again but u even get glosses that last from nine 2 five .
